Bath Chronicle Headline & Response to Cllr Elliott

The HolCG court action made the headline in this week's Bath Chronicle. However the comments made by Cllr Mark Elliott on page 2 of the Chronicle are misleading.

Mark Elliott’s comments ignore the fact that 1000+ extra cars (B&NES own data)  are now going northbound on Sion Hil/Sion Road past Kingswood School and around the dangerous blind bends past Sion Hill Place as a result of the Winifred's Lane closure.

Also, a one-way lane (Winifred's Lane) has been replaced by a narrow two-way road creating more danger than had existed before. The balance of the previous Winifred's Lane traffic is now going along Julian Road and up Morford Street.

In the 25 years prior to the closure of Winifred's Lane only one minor incident had been reported on the lane. Since the closure at least 5 accidents have occurred on Sion Road with many near misses.

Help us to win our court case against B&NES and bring this nonsense to an end by donating at https://www.gofundme.com/f/heartoflansdown. Any amount gratefully received!

Don't forget to log WL area traffic incidents in our incident log at https://www.heartoflansdown.co.uk/incidents. A good log will help our court case.
